It really is a magical event. Every year, communities across Canada gather in empty parking lots, town centres and fields to catch a glimpse of the festive Canadian Pacific Holiday Train and give back to their communities.
Setting out on Nov. 26 from Montreal, the train will make its way across the nation stopping in 150 different communities, and terminating in Port Coquitlam on Dec. 17.
All donations stay within the community they are collected in, and CP makes a donation at each of its stops as well. So, since 1999, the Holiday Train has collected over 3.9 million pounds of food for North American food banks and raised over $12 million.
