The poor bird got tangled in a rope in a 75ft high tree and its fate looked sealed, when this hero – in every sense of the world, stepped in and saved the day. Jason Galvin who served twice in Afghanistan, was getting back home from a nearby store in Rush City, Minnesota when spotting the bald eagle hanging upside down in a tree. Both the locals and authorities initially believed the bird was gone, but when Jason seen it moving its head, he realized it is alive. Most likely it was dangling there for days.

The kind-hearted man took his rifle and after 90 minutes and more than 150 shots, his efforts paid off as the rope broke and the helpless bird fell down in a safety net. Once freed, the bird named Freedom was taken to the University of Minnesota Raptor Center for treatment. Thankfully, it got only a few minor injuries, so it would soon be able to return in the wild.
