This video was taken at a lake way up in Slovakia’s High Tatras Mountains. The lake is known among locals as the Velke Hincovo Pleso. While frozen lakes are hardly a rarity during the cold season, what makes this lake particularly special is the clarity of its ice. This phenomenon only occurs under certain circumstances and the impurities normally seen with ice are at the bottom as a result of the lake freezing more slowly due to the weather conditions. The result is breathtaking! The ice is so clear that it is possible to see through it! This is nature at its finest.
