The symbol of Sydney, but also of mainland Australia, the Sydney Opera House is lit up this evening with photos captured in the last three months during Australian bushfires . The images show firefighters in action, signs of support messages and people hugging.
The display didn’t focus on the sad part of the events, but the display was intended to exhibit some of the more positive stories that have emerged.
“Tonight, we light up the canvas at the Sydney Opera House to show our support for all those affected by the Australian fire. We want to convey a message of hope and power, and it is important to thank the emergency services and volunteers for their incredible efforts and courage, ” was the message posted by Sydney Opera House on social media shows.

The famous sails of the @SydOperaHouse have been lit up in a special tribute tonight. While there have been many people, agencies and groups involved in the bush fire effort, there is special recognition for #NSWRFS volunteers who have given up their time to help others. pic.twitter.com/QEMfGxQz5k
