Rescued pregnant pit bull is glowing in her very own maternity photoshoot

This pit bull has a truly heartbreaking story, but the way it ends will definitely melt your heart. About a month ago, Mama Pickles, a two years old pit bull was found wondering alone on the streets. As she doesn’t seemed like a stray dog, but rather like a lost one, the animal control officers tried to find her family. Especially, she was pregnant, therefore in desperate need of help.

Finally, they managed to contact Pickles’ owners, but they were left heartbroken when heard the careless owners doesn’t want her anymore. So, unfortunately, she ended up at a local shelter. However the future mom’s needs were above of what the small shelter could offer. But the luck was on her side, as she was transferred at Pits & Giggles Rescue, a center specialized in caring for pregnant and nursing dogs. Needless to mention that both the dog and the volunteers as the center, were so excited when they first met.

“Pits & Giggles Rescue has a mission like no other. They specialize in Maternity rescue and care.”Lauren Casteen Sykes, a volunteer at the center told Bored Panda. “They save pregnant and nursing mama dogs from shelter and provide them with the care they need to bring their babies safely into the world.”

When seeing what an adorable, overprotective mother, Pickles is, Lauren, whose also a photographer decide to schedule a photo session with newest member at Pits & Giggles Rescue. “Photographing these mamas and their babies give them the exposure they need to get adopted!”she said. Of course, the results are extremely adorable.

“She was so excited she could hardly sit still. She loves affection and treats and was happy to participate! The hardest part was getting her to stay because she loves people so much,” Lauren told the Dodo. “It was hilarious. She is all belly and a bit clumsy, so getting her posed was not difficult, but getting her to sit still long enough to get a picture was no easy task! Her bows were crooked, falling off and tripping her up — we couldn’t help but laugh, she’s such a cartoon!”

It will take a couple of months until Mama Pickles and her adorable babies will be ready for adoption. Let’s hope they’ll find a home as they deserve. But until then, there will some great playing session with the kind volunteers at the center.

“This girly was clearly used repeatedly for breeding and we’re excited to make sure this is her very last litter,” said Lauren, who’s helping dogs in need at Pits & Giggles Rescue for almost two years since she’s a volunteer there.

“It hasn’t been only photoshoots, but fostering too, and we just adopted from them! Three years ago, my husband Brad and I adopted our first rescue dog. Her name was Remington Rose! We turned that sweet girl’s life around for the better and it really opened up our hearts to help other dogs too,” Lauren told Bored Panda.
