They’ve found alternative accommodation and are renting amongst people who are old enough to be their grandparents It’s all a part of an innovative project meant to break the age barrier and bring generations together in a way that benefits everyone involved.
This nursing home in Netherlands lets students who typically have a low income live here without paying any rent. This way, the students can save some money. But that’s not the only benefit. They get to interact with the elderly men and women who also live there and learn from their extensive life experience.
What’s more, the nursing home is actually a great, quiet environment where students can focus on their academics. All the students need to do is spend thirty hours a week with their more experienced neighbors and help them with small tasks they might need.
In addition to this, the elderly people enjoy being among young folks who are full of positive energy.
