Earlier this year a pit-bull mix named Blue was brought at the Washington County Animal Shelter, after someone found him wondering through neighborhood. Once he got at the shelter, everyone realized Blue is someone’s pup and he got lost, but since his collar was missing, there was nothing they can do!
Blue catch all the eyes with his jovial nature and even he was quite shy in the presence of other dogs, he was incredibly friendly with the staff and everyone who visited the shelter. “He wasn’t very fond of all the other dogs being around him,” Tammy Davis, the director of the shelter told THE DODO. “But he was extremely affectionate to people and very loving to the staff.”
Since finding his owner would have been an impossible task, the shelter prepared Blue for adoption. However, due to the health crisis the shelter closed its doors and the lost pit bull got stuck in there for a few more months. But once the things got back to normal, the staff shared a video of Blue playing with his favorite toy, in order to raise interest among potential adopters.
Shortly after the footage of Blue was released, the whole mystery was about to surface. When a person commented on the video “That’s my dog,” the staff at the shelter soon figured out what happened.
It turned out Blue went missing from his home in Tennessee on April and even his dad desperately searched for him for a a couple of weeks, he had to move to Texas for work and he though he would never see his dog again. But when a friend of him showed him that video, he immediately started to cry.
After a 1,200 miles fly they were about to reunite. The moment brought everyone into tears. While his dad got overwhelmed by moment, Blue couldn’t believed his eyes he’s seeing his dad once again!
“It was very obvious that the dog had a bond with that person,” Davis said. “Blue was baffled for a split second, like, ‘Am I believing my eyes?’ And then it was just immediate kisses and the man was crying, it was great.” Watch the heartwarming reunion bellow!
