It’s always heartwarming to see the faith in humanity is restored, especially when the change comes from the little ones. Like this boy’s kind gesture, for example. The 10-year-old boy who lives in a suburban Chicago neighborhood has a very special routine, every morning before he goes to school. The kindhearted boy is helping his dearest friend, a blind deer.
In situations like these, the odd of survival for a blind wild animal, are extremely low. They could never make it in the wild, because they aren’t able to find food. And most of the time, the wildlife official are putting down a poor creature, like this deer. Therefore, the little boy’s gesture is not only extremely helpful but so moving.
The story – a lovely reminder of the incredible bonds that can be formed between wild animals and kindhearted humans – was known thanks to the Reddit user Bluecollarclassicist, who shared a heart-melting picture of the unlikely duo. “There is a blind deer in our neighborhood and this boy walks her from one grass patch to another every day before school to make sure she finds food,” the user wrote.
The story immediately gained the Internet’s attention. And many people encouraged the guy who shared the story, to reach out a wildlife rescue group in order to help the poor deer. It didn’t took too long until Bluecollarclassicist came with an update.
“The deer is getting picked up today by a local animal rescue group (NOT animal control) and taken to a vet for assessment,” he wrote. “It will likely be tagged and taken to a controlled forest preserve but they did say that since she seemed so docile that she might end up in an approved farm or petting zoo.”
Even if it’s not her natural habitat, the deer will enjoy a happy life, thanks to this kindhearted 10-year-old boy!
