Friendly seal can’t stop hugging everyone at the beach

Most of us are used with dogs or cats, or eventually farm animals to bond with people, but things are completely different. It is in all animals’ nature to be friendly and affectionate not just with their own kind, but with the human beings as well. However, watching a wild seal hugging people is definitely something you won’t see everyday. But that’s exactly what this little fella does!

Sammy – the seal, made his first appearance on the Weymouth Beach in Dorset, Uk, a couple of months ago. Back then, the beach was empty because people were forced to stay inside their homes. The place looked perfect for a young seal to relax and hunt. However, once the restrictions disappear, the wild beach became more and more crowded. But surprisingly Sammy wasn’t bothered by this, but the opposite. The wild creature was actually so excited he could make new friends now.

Now, whether people are swimming, paddling or just relax at sun, the friendly seal can’t stop hugging them and showing them how much he loves them. “Sammy has a habit of popping up on people unexpectedly and tries to get onto their surfboard, kayak or on their backs,” the wildlife photographer Will Badman told THE DODO. “[He] seems to love the cameras … when he comes onto the beach to rest.”

Even though Sammy seems to be so friendly, he’s still a wild animal. So animal activists raise awareness among beachgoers to admire the famous seal from a safe distance. They also said people shouldn’t feed him. However, Sammy still remains a sight to behold for everyone’s visiting the Weymouth Beach.

“He was great to see and is not something that we normally have in this part of the UK,” Will also said. “I traveled an hour to go and see him and it was well worth it.””
