Hero firefighter saves dog’s life by performing CPR on him

When it comes to heroic acts, nothing compares with the brave firefighters. We’ve seen so many dramatic footages of firefighters going above and beyond in the attempt to save lives. Needless to say, there are not just human beings we’re talking about, but animals as well. And this firefighter from Romania shows us, once again why we call them heroes.

Costache Mugurel and his crew responded to an emergency call. A 51-year-old man and his dog have been caught in the middle of a blaze. Minutes after, the firefighters managed to take them both out of there. But while the injured man was on his way to the hospital, the poor little dog was lying on the sidewalk breathless. It’s when the kind firefighter stepped in.

Costache started to perform CPR on the unresponsive dog. After some unsuccessful attempts, he even tried the mouth-to-mouth technique. Further he continued with chest compressions and in the end the pup started to breath again. The firefighter’s perseverance saved the animal’s life.

Thankfully, the heroic act was caught on camera by Costi Tudor, a local journalist. He then shared the dramatic video on Facebook with the caption “Nobody gets left behind.” The post instantly went viral and it’s easy to understand why.

People all over the world hailed the firefighter for his gesture. “True hero! In a world with daily bad news..This is so beautiful!! God bless you and your family!” While another added: “Thank you for being a REAL human and for your compassion to helpless animal. You are the real hero! My respects.”
