Every bakery rejects baker with Down Syndrome, so she opens her own shop instead

Although we’ve come so far in many different regards, it seems that us as a society still have a lot of way to go until we come to realize that we should honor and appreciate the fact that we are not all the same.
Collette Divitto experienced what it means to be judged and pushed aside because you are different from most people. And for a long time, the fact that she has Down Syndrome has kept her away from fulfilling her dream of becoming a baker.
But it wasn’t because Collette didn’t have the right skills or the passion needed. It was other people’s perception of her condition that stopped her from doing what she loves most. No bakery hired her, but instead of giving up on her dream, Collette decided to take matters into her own hands and open a bakery.
Her business is now thriving and Collette couldn’t be prouder. But her biggest source of joy comes from the fact that she will be able to hire other people with disabilities at her bakery now that things are going well.
As you may already know, people with disabilities face a lot more difficulties in finding work than those without.
Collette’s amazing story is definitely a source of inspiration for everyone postponing to go after their dreams due to lack of confidence or fear or failure. As long as you are willing to give it your best and put a lot of heart and effort into something, you will be successful at it.
