A photo showing a bunch of dogs sleeping in a café is getting plenty of love and attention online, and it’s all for the good reasons! The pictures were taken at a Greek coffee shop in a city named Lesbos. The city has a lot of stray dogs that are constantly fighting for survival.
Most restaurant owners don’t want these dogs near their businesses, but Hott Spott opens its doors every night to local stray dogs that don’t have a place to stay. As you can see in this image, the dogs usually sleep on the benches and chairs and are quite comfortable sleeping there..
Antonis is a waiter at the café and says that his city has a big problem with stray dogs that are wandering all around the city. Most people don’t like the dogs being anywhere near them, but he says that the owner of the café is a big animal lover. This is why he allows the dogs to sleep in the bar every night after it closes.
They only started letting the pups in this summer, but they say they have no plans of kicking the animals into the cold when the winter months start.
“When the bar closes each night, the dogs come and sleep here. We don’t have a problem. From July, every night there is a dog on the couch,” said one of the waiters. “The locals have increased levels of solidarity towards environmental and humanistic issues. The new generation is more sensitive and well informed.”
